Nancy Thurber passed peacefully from his world into Heaven on March 25, 2020 at the age of 89, at the Peconic Landing Retirement Community in Greenport, NY.  Born Nancy Cummings in Rahway, NJ, she was the loving wife of Harry W. Thurber, Jr. who pre-deceased her by one day.  She was the sister of the late Edwin Cummings II and the mother of Susan (Thurber) Fisher of Telford, PA and Scott Thurber of East Greenwich, RI.  Nancy passed peacefully of natural causes holding the hand of her son.  Nancy was buried along with, and next to Harry on March 30, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery, Bay Shore, NY.

Nancy is survived by Susan and Scott, her daughter-in-law Terry Ann Thurber, son-in-law Nick Custer and by five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A Service of Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at the First Presbyterian Church, Southold, NY.  There will be a short reception outside after the service to meet the family.  All are welcome to attend and masks are required.
