Visitors, in response to the coronavirus and our effort to be proactive in protecting our community, the staff of Horton-Mathie Funeral Home will only be allowing 5 people at a time to enter the funeral home to pay their respects to the Hughes family.  We ask that after you visit, you leave the funeral home in a timely manor so that others waiting outside will be able to enter and pay their respects. Please be prepared to wait outside.

Joseph S. Hughes; age 59, born and raised in Greenport, now of East Marion died March 10, 2020.  Family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 17th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home 735 First St. Greenport.  A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 12 noon at Orient Central Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers Joe's family has suggested donations be made to: Peconic Landing Employee Appreciation Fund 1500 Brecknock Rd. Greenport, NY 11944.  Please make checks payable to: Peconic Landing at Southold, Inc.
