Nathalie Andretham Obituary

Mrs. St Jules Andr é , née Nathalie Tham, was born in Pestel, Haiti on November 27th, 1926 to loving parents Sidalise Mede and Elvecius Tham. She was the youngest of 11 children and her siblings were full of life. From them, she inherited most of her sense of humor and sharp wit.

In June 1949, she married Mr. St Jules André. From this union were born Wilbert, Emise, and Pierre Jules. Mrs. St Jules, lovingly known as Grandm è, also adopted 2 additional children; Lyvia and Debel. In the 1960s, the family moved to Port-au-Prince, Haiti where the upbringing of the children took place. Mrs. St Jules was a seamstress by trade and had spent most of her adult life as a hard working mother, often working in variousindustries. Anyone who knew her, could attest of her dynamic spiritual life. She was a woman of faith and resilience so much so that her grandchildren nicknamed her “Phoenix”. A warrior who was always a source of inspiration and strength even in the toughest times.

On April 8th, 2020 before Grandm è took her last breath, she thanked God for her life, prayed for her loved ones and blessed them even with difficulty breathing and speaking. Her last words were to her Lord, “Que ton nom soit benit! (May your name be blessed)”  The matriarch and the last surviving child of her parents, she lived an honorable life valuing dignity, perseverance, and the pursuit of faith.

Grandm è’s living legacy includes - Her children - Wilbert & Vertha (Wife), Emise, Pierre Jules, Lyvia (Family), Debel (Family). Her grandchildren - Yasmine, Billy, Nathalie, David. Her numerous nieces and nephews, their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren.  The Tham family and all their loved ones, the Andr é family and all their loved ones, and all those who were deeply loved by her. Grandm è was affectionately loved, greatly blessed, and highly favored.

A private burial took place on Monday, April 13th at Orient Cemetery.
